Funding Applications

This year's funding applications to the Waikato River Clean-up Trust will open on Monday 12 June 2023 and close on Thursday 10 August 2023 at 4pm sharp.

Please view our Funding Strategy 2023 which outlines funding criteria and priorities.  We also recommend viewing the four videos on this page before making an application.

All applications must be made online. Our  application portal will be available on this page from 12th June.  If you would like a copy of the application form in Word (as a working draft) it can be downloaded here.

The Waikato River Authority will usually give priority to projects that that are co-funded. If you are seeking co-funding from other organisations you may wish to consider the list here of 2023 Potential Funders.

If you need assistance with estimating project costs, you can read our Standard Costs and Assumptions that may be helpful.

Decisions on what projects will be funded from this year's applications will be available in late October.

This year $6 million is available to funding clean-up projects in the Waikato and Waipā River catchments.
