Each year, the Waikato River Authority holds a contestable funding round, allocating up to $6 million to successful applicants. Since 2011, the Waikato River Authority has granted over $83.7 million across 503 projects.
2026 Funding round - Closed
The Waikato River Authority 2026 funding round opened on Tuesday, 2nd June 2026 and closed on Monday, 27th July 2026 at 4pm.
Up to $6 million will be available for restoration projects across the Waikato catchment that align with the 2026 Funding Strategy and restoration priorities.
